You may feel that history and culture are not your 'thing' and that you'd rather find a sport to do when you visit the Kingdom of Fife. Well, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Fife has just about every sport under the sun except skiing and mountain sports, but these too are within easy reach. But back to sports - most people know Fife for one sport only - that is Golf and people travel from all over the world to play on the famous "Old Course" at - St Andrews , the 'Home of Golf'. I know that many are so thrilled to have this experience, but maybe they don't realise that there are dozens of other wonderful Golf Courses in Fife. But there are so many more other sports available than just golf. Let me share with you some of them, and I'm sure you'll find there's something for everyone.

So, if you're looking to find a sport in Fife, here's a 'taster' of some of the things you might enjoy either as a participant or spectator:-
Thumb Golfing Golf - Find all the Golf Courses in St Andrews and the rest of Fife, and find out where to get a St Andrews Golf Souvenir from.
Thumb swimming Swimming. You may fancy a 'dip' in the sea, but be warned - the water will be COLD. However, you will find public pools in Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, Burntisland, Kirkcaldy, Leven, Glenrothes and St. Andrews.
Thumb sailing Sailing. You will find Sailing Clubs all around the coast of Fife, including Aberdour, Burntisland, Kinghorn, Dysart all the way round to Largo, Elie, Anstruther. St Andrews, Tayport & Newburgh
Thumb football Football (Soccer). Football is popular sport in Scotland, and Fife has a few professional teams in the Scottish Leagues - Dunfermline Athletic, Raith Rovers (Kirkcaldy), Cowdenbeath, East Fife (Methil).
Thumb Gym Gymnasiums/Health Clubs - There are both public and private clubs in every town in Fife. Some public ones are in Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, Kirkcaldy, Dalgety Bay, Glenrothes, Leven & St Andrews University (June-Sept only).
Thumb off road Off-road Driving - You'll find facilities for this in Torryburn, Dunfermine, Cardenden, St Andrews, Strathmiglo, and indoor karting at Kirkcaldy

Thumb walking Coastal walks - The Kingdom of Fife is renowned for its unique long-distant footpath, known as "The Fife Coastal Path" which stretches from Culross right round to the Tay Bridge in the north.
Thumb cycling Cycling - Fife boasts over 300 miles of dedicated cycle routes the length and breadth of the Kingdom.Click the link to get the details.

Thumb Clay shooting Clay Pigeon Shooting - You'll find excellent facilities at Cluny Clays near Kirkcaldy and Craigie Farm Leuchars (near St Andrews).
Thumb fishing Fishing - There is ample opportunity for sea fishing throughout the area. However, there are a number of places you can fish for trout, such as Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, St Andrews, Leslie, Lochgelly, Newburgh and Wormit.
Thumb tennis Tennis - There are many Tennis Courts around the Kingdom, and you'll certainly find them in all the main towns, Dunfermline, Kircaldy, St Andrews, Cupar, Falkland and more.
Thumb Green Bowling Green Bowling - Again, you will find Bowling Greens is every town and in many villages throughout Fife.
Thumb Climbing Climbing and Abseiling - You can find abseiling as well as orienteering as well as other sporting activities at 'East Neuk Outdoors' at Cellardyke Park in Anstruther.
Thumb water skiing Water skiing - Townhill Country Park in Dunfermline is headquarters of 'waterskiscotland' and is national training centre for the Scotland Team.

Thumb Ice hockey Ice hockey - Kirkcaldy has an ice rink, and 'Fife Flyers' are the famous Ice Hockey Team from the Kingdom. If you don't want to play hockey, just go along and enjoy the skating.
Suash Squash - You can find squash courts at all the main Leisure Centres in the towns throughout Fife.
Thumb Curling - There are a number of Curling Clubs in Fife. You'll find them in Dunfermline, Aberdour, Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, Cupar, Ceres and Elie.
Canoeing and Kayaking - probably the most well-known place to find this is at 'East Neuk Outdoors'. This is THE place to go if you like all the outdoor adventure pursuits.
Horse Riding Horse Riding and Trekking - There are a number of Equestrian Centres in Fife. You'll find some at Cupar, Leuchars and Dunfermline.
Thumb cricket Cricket - If cricket is the game you enjoy playing or watching, there a number of places you can go. Try Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Falkland, Freuchie, Glenrothes, Cupar, St Andrews and more!
Archery Archery - There are a few places you can practice Archery, such as Cluny Clays near Kirkcaldy and East Neuk Outdoors at Anstruther.
10 pin bowling 10 pin Bowling - A few 10 pin-bowling alleys operate in the area - you'll find them at Dunfermline, Glenrothes, and Kirkcaldy.

Thumb Flying - Of course if it's Flying Lessons you're after, the Kingdom of Fife has that too. Check out Fife Airport outside Glenrothes, and have a flying lesson over the beautiful countryside.
